Pack recommendations for a big guy?

Recommended Posts

I was going to say the 2200 as well, but midget Brian beat me to it. I'm about 6'2-6'3 2nunayadamnbidbess pounds, and long torso and the 2200 fit me well. When I Killed my bull in 2014, I loaded the pack with way to much weight and it carried like a dream. They can be found fairly cheap used.

If only that could have been your 10000 post.

Guess I'll have to waste it responding to you.

Perfect.

What I have found with my kifaru frame and bag is that I no longer need a pack frame. I got tired of sending my 2200 in for zipper repairs and small tears and the load lifters and waist belt were not all that effective for me. Try it on and find some heavy stuff in the store and pack that bitch full and see how it feels. My kifaru has a sweet lumbar pad and aluminum stays custom bent to match my back profile and honestly is the most comfortable pack I own. I spoke to Aron Snyder and he told me what Would be best for me and I bought everything half priced from rokslide classifieds. Just another option to consider.

Another vote for the 2200. Great all around pack and was pretty comfortable. I see them under $150 most of the time in used but great condition.

I tried on an outdoorsman pack yesterday and it was nice but I don't think it is quite what I am looking for.

I stopped at cabelas today and tried on a few badlands including the clutch, 2200, and super day pack. I also tried on and ebelestock and it was too short for my torso.

The 2200 and clutch were very nice and I think the recommendations in here are spot on. It fit my long torso and the belt sat at my natural waistline.

Now I have to figure out what I want to do for sure and do it.

Thanks for the advice.
