trphyhntr Report post Posted June 22, 2016 Update on the fire as of 1930 The Cedar Fire is over 40,000 acres. Governer Duecy has declared a state of emergency for Navajo County. Fort Apache Agency is working two lightning fires. Pacheta Fire is located just south of Reservation Lake in the eastern portion of the reservation. The fire is 1/2 acre. The Poker Fire is located 20 miles southeast of Whiteriver just west of Poker Mountain within Mormon Canyon. The fire is 70 acres and fire behavior was active. The fire is burning in Pinyon pine and Juniper. 8 Jumpers and a helicopter are working the fire. Two engines are responding to a third start within Cerro Gordo Mountain east of McNary. No size up has been given as of 7 pm. Fire danger is very high on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. Therefore, Effective, Friday June 24, 2016 at 7:00 AM, Modified Stage 2 Fire Restrictions will be in effect for the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. This means that campfires will NOT be allowed during the hours of 7AM to 7PM. In addition, debris burning will not be allowed. For more information, call (928) 205-5662. I live right on the rim and depending on how this fire goes, I could be one of the first ones hit. Our house got one of those coveted "red" tags meaning they aren't sure they could do anything if it did come to us. Let's hope and pray that the lines stand.
