GRONG Report post Posted October 24, 2004 36 is from the east side of the hwy from Carrizozo south to Alamagordo. The hwy that goes from Alamagordo to Ruidoso is the southern boundry. The hwy from Carrizozo east is the northern boundry. I think just about everything from Ruidoso, west is 36. The Mescalero Rez is on the southeastern side of the unit. AWESOME COUNTRY! If you're down around Carrizozo watch for Oryx along the hwy, they're pretty cool looking. Josh Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
falls Report post Posted October 24, 2004 Dangit I love you guys... That was one of the funnest trips ever. I still laugh out loud everytime I pass through that area. Chris I do think it was 5 lions though. For all you non believers that country is chock full of cats. One morning the three of us could see four lions in our binocs without moving them. And its not that uncommon to see them in groups of two or three, since the kittens stay with the mom till they are practically full size. On that trip we saw at least one lion a day every day. and far more lions than mature bucks, of which we only saw one, which Joshy killt. Talk to you guys later Jeff Falls.
