AZ8 Report post Posted May 28, 2016 It's because people think it's another 3 day weekend party! 80% of the idiots have no clue. As long as they have their Facebook status updated, inner tube and cold beer in hand, it's just another long weekend to have a good time.

PRDATR Report post Posted May 29, 2016 If I see one more happy Memorial Day post on idiotbook I'm going to start loading my gun. Thoughts and prayers to all who paid the ultimate sacrifice for this country. God bless the USA Well don't know all about that. I have only seen one of those today from a FB friend who is closing in on being a senior citizen, like myself. I like seeing it recongized, whether it be a tacky 5$ Bass Pro T Shirt or a pic of a family member from past generations. I myself didn't serve. I did enlist in 71 but the bastards singled me out on my induction day because I had psorarisis and booted me. We are fighting a war in the ME but it get no publicity, but it is going on everyfricken day. It's getting swept under the rug and the only thing that makes the headlines is the lack of care for the Vets who look for it from the VA. In the Vietnam War ( and yes it was a WAR) and during Desert Storm there was nightly news and afternoon new, just about round the clock. During Vietnam the news had the daily body count. Sometimes 5, sometimes 35, watched as a VC threw a grenade into a hughey on the 6 o'clock news that landed to pick up solders. One of my HS friends was in there, nicest guy in the school, Irish kid, State champion wrestler. wasn't even 20 yo's old. Can't imagine what his parents went through.
Coach Report post Posted May 29, 2016 All I can say is "Thank You" to our brothers and sisters putting their lives out there every day, and to those who have fallen. And a special "Thank You" to the hunting and fishing organizations that have programs for returning, wounded vets. These men and women have given their eyes, ears, limbs and sanity to keep us safe. We need to do everything we can to bring them home and take care of them as diligently as they took care of us. May God bless our warriors and their families. Freedom isn't free.
