couesfreak23 Report post Posted May 22, 2016 Looking to apply for late December coues on my 1st and 2nd choice possible 3rd but im guessing the tags usually go within the 1st two choices. But my question is would I have better odds if I were to apply by myself vs applying with 1 or 2 other people for these tags, or does it not make a difference. I don't have bonus points besides loyalty and hunter education point. Also should I apply to certain units based on last years drawing odd that is in regulation book. Thanks in advance for any info

HUNTnTAT2 Report post Posted May 22, 2016 If you put in with others. They average all applicants bonus points.
couesfreak23 Report post Posted May 22, 2016 OK I should put something that most likely has left overs for 3rd choice Dont put December on your third choice.
couesfreak23 Report post Posted May 22, 2016 So if I have 2 and he has 1 it would round up him to two points right. I believe that's what I read somewhere. If you put in with others. They average all applicants bonus points.
couesfreak23 Report post Posted May 22, 2016 So how does a group draw work, since its like lottery draw. They draw random number right. So in group do they combine all points or number together and if one is chosen then the group draws the tags.
5guyshunting Report post Posted May 22, 2016 Its gonna work like the "pointguard" scam for now. Good luck.
lancetkenyon Report post Posted May 22, 2016 Takes all bonus points for all applicants, adds them up and divides by number of applicants. Only the first applicant gets put in for the draw then, with the average number. Then the draw, and good luck. If you happen to get chosen, and there are tags left for the amount of applicants, you get them. If there are not enough tags left for all applicants, you all get thrown out. Chances are better for a single applicant on a tag in that case if all apllicants had the same amount of BPs. With 2 BPs, your chances of drawing a Dec tag are slim, but stranger things happen all the time. Look at the guys with 2 BPs that draw eay rifle bull tags. It does happen occasionally. Good luck.
