Point Guard

Recommended Posts

It's not abuse if it's allowed.....

While that might be true currently, I would imagine azgfd will amend the current law so that selling ones points is not allowed.

I agree with GreyGhost. If everyone on the app had to surrender their tags then this would be a moot point. After all, (theoretically) the whole point of putting in as a group is to hunt as a group. If one person can't make it, then the others are out as well and they can all try again together next year. It might limit how many people put in as groups, but if you did, you'd be dang sure it was a true friend or a family member. As such, if they surrendered a tag, I'm sure it would be for a dang good reason (i.e. major medical or dream hunt out of state), in which case you'd likely be there with them anyways.

I don't know if it has been mentioned but someone's got to fill out an app if doing a group and if you "sell" your bp's than you would have to give the other person your AZGFD ID and mine is my social security #, I would not be comfortable giving that info to a total stranger.

theres ways to work that out, i dont think it would be a big deal. you meet up with the dude at AZGFD, you give the dude the cash, you write down your info on the app and you drop it in the box. have to verify the bonus points too first of course

Most other states let you turn in your tag as many times as you want to. The difference is AZ is also going to give you a point as though you didn't get drawn at all. That's wrong, IMO. If you turn in your tag, fine. But you drew a tag and should not get an additional point.

^ this. In Colorado for instance you can draw and turn back every year. You just don't get the point you would have earned that year. You keep your existing points. This is an excellent comprise as if I had an injury or death in family etc I'd be grateful to get back as many points as I could. It would also alleviate the selling thing as no one with 18 pts for elk waiting one early rifle is gonna give up being able to earn a point. It would fix the whole thing. But until the. Anyone with 16 or more deer or elk points wanna make $1500-3000? Serious. Pm me

If someone I don't know gets to use my points I'm the A app and they are B... they give me their info, not me to them.

G&F has been advised of all the dynamics a few years ago. Weren't many of us at the meetings but enough of us there to make sure there was no mistaking the possibilities, of one and done or unlimited.

They shelved it then because of this.

Folks will learn to use the new system or be left in the dust.

I'm devious enough to figure the angles... and honest enough to inform all others to whats coming and how to get ready.

Colorado has a preference point system not bonus. Besides that you can draw your second choice and only use your preference points if drawn for 1st choice. Nevada doesn't compare either.

Even at 15 you're starting to understand more what you killed so that doesn't bother me. I'm talking like 10-13 year olds that just wanna be out there.

Apples to oranges my first truck was an s10 with a 350 motor in it.Did I know what I had? Not really I knew it was fast and cool...

Some 10-13 yo have better ethics and shoot better than a large portion of the general hunting population. Imo
