I hit pup distress and he ran straight to the call. Finally stopped him at 20 yards. The 204 dropped him in his tracks. No exit even at the close range. nateNAU Report post Posted May 12, 2016 40 gr v-max. I had been debating with my self for a while on a predator gun. I have never been happy with fur damage on coyotes from my 223 and 22-250 and I know it would be much worse on fox or bobcats. I was leaning towards a 222 but finding a rifle in it was challenging so I opted for the savage in 204. Once I start hand loading for it I like to give the 32 gr bullets a try.
