lancetkenyon Report post Posted May 10, 2016 Depends on your definition of a "hunter". AK Brown bear is becoming a really "trendy" hunt. Yeah? I wish I could afford to follow that "trend".

brademan76 Report post Posted May 10, 2016 Yeah? I wish I could afford to follow that "trend". Yes, in part because of that high price tag. All of these television shows on History, Nat Geo, Discover, Animal Planet that are glamorizing/dramatizing AK in general, and a couple specifically around the bear hunting, are really driving up demand- mostly by very wealthy "hunters" wanting to keep up with the Jones' who are often very "green" and really, have no place on the hunts from a physical/mental preparedness standpoint. I know I may be jumping to conclusions a bit saying that the host of Triple D falls within this category, and that he is in Russia, not AK, but I'm also going to assume I'm not far off. lancetkenyon Report post Posted May 10, 2016 I don't mind wealthy well-known celebrity hunters bringing positive attention to our sport for the masses to see. Even though I am proud to be one, not all of us are rednecks. If I had the money, I would be doing it too. Not fair trying to say someone has no business being out there hunting big bears when apparently they have the means to do it, fully guided and outfitted or not. He has as much right as anyone. Edge Report post Posted May 10, 2016 I was on a fishing boat that unloaded our catch of Pollock in Kamchatka, 15 years ago. Only Ruskies there were a couple forklift drivers. Pretty sure they were drunk. That's my Kamchatka story. Guy Fieri had a Russian guide for the hunt but his outfitter had to double as his hairdresser and make-up man. Good thing they weren't mousse huntin, confusing.
GreyGhost85 Report post Posted May 10, 2016 Sounds like someone's a little jelly....good on him. Takes serious huevos for celebrities to post up anything about them hunting on social media these days.
