zjherna1 Report post Posted May 5, 2016 Do coues bucks and muley Bucks ever run together when they're in their bachelor group phase? I have a picture I took from a ways away and there's a couple definite Muley bucks but there is one deer that looks quite a bit smaller and more like a coues. Could it be a hybrid or just a small muley?
zjherna1 Report post Posted May 5, 2016 The buck that I think is the coues is the one farthest to the left. There's a definite body size difference.

GreyGhost85 Report post Posted May 5, 2016 Not common, but it does happen. Probably not so much that they "run together" but most likely a case being in the same spot at the same time
ivhunter Report post Posted May 5, 2016 in my side of town I sometimes see muley bucks with donkeys, I've even put into my search notes... find the donkey = good chance a buck is near. So I'm sure it could be possible to see cues and mule deer together.
rossiranch Report post Posted May 6, 2016 Really ivhunter?! In my neck of the desert I've yet to see deer anywhere close to donkeys. Cows on the other hand are a different story
carpcody Report post Posted May 6, 2016 I put a stock on an average sized Muley buck with a small forked white tail with him this jan. I ended up blowing the stock but when they took off they each went complete different directions.

Last January I saw a 140ish 4x4 with a doe, 3 cows and 5 burros. Saw it again later in the season.

Str8Shot Report post Posted May 6, 2016 Not all small forks and spikes hang with Doe ... A bit to hard to tell from the pic, but though I am sure paths cross at times in some ranges, I would bet on a small Muley hanging with the big boys
ivhunter Report post Posted May 6, 2016 rossiranch.... I've seen it many times in the last 5 yrs I have been chasing bucks. but it also has a lot to do with what's around them or whats making them get together.
Edge Report post Posted May 7, 2016 Craziest bachelor party, I was living in the S. Utah boonies. Coming back from town one afternoon I saw a large group of bucks in the alfalfa field beside me. They started moving and crossed the road in front of me. I counted 69 bucks all 3-5 points, but stranger yet, they had a spike elk running with them too.
MT_Sourdough Report post Posted May 8, 2016 i was twisted-up in some mountains in Montana when I dropped into a hidden valley with a small park. About 3 acres of marshy grass. In the middle of park there was about a dozen cow elk with calves. At three different points close to the perimeter of the park, there were cow moose with calves. It was like a quiet happy nursery until I showed up. Before that day, I never saw moose and elk hanging out like that.
