Camera Thief in Unit 9 still going strong!

Well they got us again!

 

My son put a camera up on Thursday and it was gone today. This is the second camera in about 4 weeks.

9 has got to be the worst unit for this crap. I can't believe how many cameras get yanked up there. It really is a crappy thing to do too someone. To bad they don't make a lojack system for game cameras............

I just don't understand why people have to rip off trail cams, or anything else for that matter... I mean what do they do with them..... do they have a pile of them at home, or do they put them back out in other places?? I just don't get it.

Their rewards are awaiting on a certain day of reckoning. Till then, looks like one should hang cameras from Mon - Thur to reduce the possibility of theft. I cannot believe the number of people having their cams ripped off. Makes for a sorry statement of our peers, not that one would want to claim the scumbags. People say to engrave their name on it, but what would a thief care about a name on a camera he is sticking elsewhere.

I would like to rig one up to one of those Tazer things. 50,000 volts. As soon as they open the camera door, it shoots those two wired prongs right in your neck and the bodily functions soon are uncontrollable.

We usually put them up Sunday late afternoons and pick up them up on Thursdays to TRY to keep honest, honest. The first camera we lost was set up on this schedule and Thursday evening it was gone with the wraper of the thief's new bolt cutters laying at the base of the tree.

Why doesnt everybody watch each others back. Carve a name and number into the cameras if somebody finds one they can simply call that person and ask them if they left there camera at such and such place. If they say no then someone has obviously stole the camera and then put it out for there own use. The caller if still in the area could retrieve the camera and give it to the rightfull owner or tell the owner where the thief put the camera after they stole at. Just a thought.

Sometimes i wonder if fellow hunters are doing this, or if some treehuggers are just trying to save an animal. You have to wonder sometimes. Its really chicken sh!t though.

I would tend to believe a certain guide outfit is doing a lot of the thieving, so you wont know about the bulls in the area.

Typical unit 9 more unsportsmenlike conduct happens in that unit than any other. From stealing tree stands, reserving waterholes, fist fights over water, etc. etc.
