Coach Report post Posted April 27, 2016 We had a great time over the last two weekends hunting turkey. We had 2 junior tags and two general (early) tags. Went 3 of 4 so far. My middle son, Nick hurt his knee chasing a big old tom - tripped on a rock at full sprint and landed directly on his kneecap on another rock. Took him out of baseball for the last week of the season. Here's the pix. My youngest, Josh got this long bearded old tom opening day. He's 4 for 4 now on opening weekend since he was ten. The next weekend it was me and Matt. Friday I took this really nice bird. Saturday it was Matt's turn. After some close calls, we were ready to call it a day when this guy showed up. We still have time for Nick to get back out there and find one, but it's getting tougher. The birds seem to have bred out early and we're finding lots of solo toms and bred hens.
