Bucks_N_Yotes Report post Posted August 11, 2007 I have lived in AZ for about 6 years and have finaly got drawn for whitetail in 6A. I am from WA and have hunted deer up there for years. It is a whole different ball game here in AZ. I don't know where to start. I am a avid predator hunter (since I moved to AZ and could never get drawn) and have been at it for 6 years now. I have slowly started ventuing away from my farm in Gila Bend in search for more places to hunt. I have been going up to 6A for the past year and havn't really seen alot of coues. I have seen a few does, lots of mullies and elk, but no bucks. I have found it hard to find people to put in with since I don't know a lot of people, and the people that I have met that do put in have their other 3 buddies that are putting in with them. If their is any suggestions on where I should look, or if your intrested in going along, let me know!
coues krazy Report post Posted August 11, 2007 I had that tag last year. Its a tough hunt in october. Any of the major drainages off of the rim hold bucks. Try west clear creek canyon, beaver creek, fossil creek and rattlesnake canyon. Glass early and late. Good luck!
TwoGuns Report post Posted August 11, 2007 I drew a WT tag for 6A Oct. 26 hunt and was out today doing some scouting and saw a coueswhitetail.com sticker on a green dodge pup with a matching camper. Seems as though everyone was out there today. Anyway, didnt see any deer this morning but saw lots of tracks, and it sure is nice to see the hills covered in green grass again. There are a lot of great areas down the power line road off of 260, all the way down into the canyon. And dont be discouraged by not seeing those little grey guys, they are very good at not being seen. Just check for tracks at the tanks or in the road cause they are in there. Send me a message if you are coming up to scout, since I live in 6a, maybe I will be able to get away and show you around. Good luck either way. Bucks_N_Yotes Report post Posted August 14, 2007 Thanks! I am hoping to get up there this weekend if I can get rid of my cardinal tickets. I am usually up there every other weekend. It would be nice to catch up with you, or even talk about a few areas on the map! Ben
