ej20 Report post Posted April 26, 2016 I totally spaced when checking if I got drawn for antelope. I thought I did not get drawn but about an hour when I got to work my wife text and said I think you got drawn for antelope?? I was like what do you mean? She sends a picture of the tag and tells me this came in the mail. 19A buck analope tag!! Best surprise ever!! Now I need to work on scouting and getting landownership permission. Can anyone send me in the right direction to contact landowners and any other things to know about the unit that might not be on the game and fish website.

GreyGhost85 Report post Posted April 26, 2016 First things first, let's learn how to spell "antelope". 2nd, congrats on the tag. Apparently 20 years isn't long enough to draw
Flatlander Report post Posted April 26, 2016 Perkins Ranch, I think Shane Perkins is the operator. Or walk in on the Deep Well, no need for permission.

Flatlander Report post Posted April 26, 2016 Game and Fish was 0 help when I had my antelope tag. Literally they sent me a link to the where to hunt section on the website. Of course, that did not have any contact info for landowners. Just google it, Perkins isn't that tough to get ahold of.
KingJeff187 Report post Posted April 26, 2016 19A is a killer unit. Don't pay to hunt the "Deeded land" I shot my goat on public land in 2011 and i think He was planty big enough. Congrats on your draw and good luck o n your hunt. Do your homework and there will be no need to Pay to get a great goat. Here is The goat I shot in 2011
ej20 Report post Posted April 26, 2016 Thanks kingjeff187 that's encouraging. I would like to just hunt public land but I don't want to sell my self short either and miss out on maybe some good hunting. I'm probably going to scout public land as much as a can and if I'm not liking it then try to contact a ranch.

I'm probably going to scout public land as much as a can and if I'm not liking it then try to contact a ranch. We filled 3 tags all on opening day. If you scout enough you will find a Dandy Buck. I shot mine out towards old Chery road heading out from The Dewy Junction. The other 2 goat we shot came off of Fain Ranch. There is always at least 1 decent buck running around Fain Ranch.Watch out for the 7 foot tall cows during your hunt ( We saw a guy chasing a herd of antelope with one of those Zebu cow blinds) It was pretty comical to watch..HaHa
couesmagnet Report post Posted April 26, 2016 What a sweet surprise. Had a friend get a unit 9 early rifle tag yesterday, and he thought he checked his card and no hits. Congrats on the surprise.
tjhunt2 Report post Posted April 26, 2016 eJ20, no need to look up any landownership. I can save you a lot of trouble. If you were to kindly hand over my antelope tag I would be forever greatful. I'm sure g&f meant to send it my way. All kidding a side, congratulations on your tag. I'm sitting on 19bp and he last time I hunted 19A I stopped by the Perkins Ranch and was told they had already filled what they considered enough paid permission slips. I thanked them and continued on down the road. I'm not sure what their price was but I found enough public land to hunt. I was thru there in January and was surprised at the number of houses where I actually hunted last. Don't let that discourage you though. With some scouting and home work I'm betting you will do just find. Can't wait to see how you do. Good luck and shoot straight. TJ
