Conquest HD vs Euro HD 15x

Anybody had a chance to compare these much in the field? It's hard for me to tell when i'm looking outside at cabela's

Meopta makes cabelas euro hd. I have looked through both and cant really put one above the other personally. I thought the euro's were too heavy but that was the 12x50's.

The 12x50's I believe are almost the same weight as the 15's. When I was looking I couldn't ever get my hands on the meopta/euro hd's in the 15x56,only the 12x50. They seemed great (in the store) and I've never heard anything bad about them. I think they were even on sale for a while at Cabela's. I liked the conquest a lot... until I got a great deal on some of the Swarovski hd's.

Lance will chime in soon. He has spent many hours behind these. He rated the euros right below the swarc! I took his advice and for glass that matched the swarc expect the outer rim is ever so slightly dimmer then the swarc. So I went and bought the 15s euros and they are fantastic and half the cost of the 15 swarc.

I have owned Euro 12x 50 for the last few years, highly recommend them. For the money, they are worth the investment!

I have the zeiss and they are great. Solid investment. I think comparing them with the euros is about like comparing 6 to a half dozen though. Clarity and price are basically identical. Find which one feels better for you, and you won't be disappointed.

Zeiss Conquests have sold on this site for $1100 - $1200. That's a great deal on good optics. I paid more. Zeiss Conquest have a no fault warranty beyond the original purchaser. Have not looked through the Meopta (yet).

I have the Euro 10x42s and the 15x56s. I got absolute smoking deals on both of mine, basically both pair for less than one pair of Swaros. I was fully prepared with cash in hand to buy the Swaro SLR HDs when I bought my 15s too.

 

Last year I had hundreds of hours behind both pair. No eye fatigue after 10+ hours a day for 10 days straight on 3 separate hunts, glassing from 200 yards to 2+ miles. From January to December, I put them through their paces. Looking for game, scouting, range time, long range shooting and spotting, for work, etc. I would buy them again in a heartbeat. And I consider myself an optics snob with an addiction to clear glass, both for binos and scopes too.

I see Cabela's says 99.9% light transmission on the Euros. I thought only Zeiss could make that claim?

In reality the Euro/Meopta 56HD binoculars have a 89% light transmission. The Swarovski's have 93%.

 

I have the Euro 56's and am quite happy with them.

I don't think there are any binos made with 99.9% light transmission.

 

But here is the kicker. I can see more details due to the light gathering capabilities with my binos in the first or last 20 minutes of light than I can with my naked eyes.

I picked up a pair of lightly used euro 15's a month ago and have really enjoyed them. Just was curious if conquests were a slight upgrade at same price point. I didn't get an elk tag so I don't have much else to talk about right now.

For what it's worth... Today a guy from work brought his 15x56 slc neu and i had my euro hd 15x56. we put them side by side on tripods. i went into this fully expecting to want an upgrade to swaro after comparing them. we looked for 30 minutes back and forth. into sun, shade, near, far. I thought the euro's were better but i didnt say anything to him. Finally, the guy who owns the swaros admitted that he thought the Euro's were sharper. I was actually really surprised the difference in clarity was that noticeable. I thought the edges were comparable. of course the swaro has a little wider FOV but it's not by much. I told him Swaro would probably beat Euro's in low light so he'd feel better, which may or may not be true. Anyway, this is starting to look like the best 1100 bucks i ever spent. As far as i'm concerned the only way to step up from here is the slc HD
