elwood Report post Posted April 12, 2016 Selling my 1985 4Runner with about 291,500 on the odometer. This is the only year that came with the 22RE engine and solid front axle from the factory. It was pretty much stock when I bought it in August of 2009 with 255,00 miles. Since then I have done the following: - 2" lift with Old Man EMU springs and shocks in front and back (also HD rear add-a-leaf springs never installed) - Trail Gear greasable shackles - Trail Gear High Steer Kit with IFS Steering Box - Trail Gear knuckle rebuild kit - Longfield lifetime knuckle seals - Replaced Knuckle studs - Chromoly Hub Gear - Locking Hub Dials powder coated - Trussed front knuckles - Vented and slotted front rotors - IFS Calipers - Top and bottom trussed front axle - Differential armor on front and rear - Differential Stud Eliminator Kit - 1" Brake Master Cylinder - 1992 Tacoma rear axle housing with brakes completely rebuilt, new Trail Gear axles and studs, new Marlin Crawler bearings and seals - 1.5" wheel spacers up front to match width of rear axle housing - Both axle housings painted with POR 15 - Wilwood proportioning valve for rear brakes - 4:88 gears by Western Differential in front and rear - Aussie Locker in rear - Replaced timing chain, tensioner, cover and water pump - Grizzly Grip (similiar to Rhino Lining) on entire floor pan, removable top and lower third of exterior - Replaced all power steering and coolant hoses - Replaced all vacuum lines - Replaced Heater Core - Replaced AC Compressor, Condenser, Drier and recharged with freon - Replaced Master and Slave clutch cylinder - BFG 33x10.5R15 All Terrains with matching spare This old 4Runner is far from perfect cosmetically. It has plenty of pinstripes and dings, the original paint is pretty thin in many places, and many of the interior plastic panels have cracked or broke (most have been removed but I did keep and are available). I have not done anything with the engine, tranny or transfer case. Compression test at 284,000 miles showed 1-170, 2-170, 3-160, 4-170. Also included are a couple milk crates of spare parts, vehicle specific tools and all the service/repair manuals. It has been a great little truck but we are looking to get a side by side so it's time for a new home. Asking $5,000 and we are located in NW Tucson. Please call 520-237-9643 if you have any questions.
Coach Report post Posted April 15, 2016 That's a true gem - not many have the 22RE and a solid front axle. Too many projects going on for me, but these are very rarely available. Sweet rig for sure.
