apache12 Report post Posted April 10, 2016 I had been searching for nosler 115 partition bullets for a few weeks and got frustrated and bought some hornady 117 sst. In comparing the hornady load data with RL 25 to other manuals like nosler and comparing similar bullets like 115 grain nosler. The charge weights are really different. 67.8 max load for hornady while nosler goes up to 74 It is because of bc difference in bullets?
lancetkenyon Report post Posted April 10, 2016 A lot of variables. Different chambers, different pressures, different powder lots, different brass makes different case capacity, different seating depth, testing temps, testing elevation, etc.

Big or Bust Report post Posted April 11, 2016 Yeah, I agree with lawyer. IMHO, the most accurate load data (read most unlawyered) is from Nosler...
apache12 Report post Posted April 11, 2016 Well done Bill. Thanks Big or Bust. Makes me feel better about loading a bit over hornady data. I haven't shot the rounds yet. But I'm well under nosler max load with very similar load data. Next I need to read up on sign of pressure. I've never i countered it
105Coues Report post Posted April 27, 2016 I have shot 165 308 Nosler BT for years and I tried the Hornady 155 AMAX at a grain higher charge which should have increased velocity but it did not. Lower weight projectile and more powder should mean higher velocity... My assumption after this and also noticing the Hornadys left more copper in the barrel is that they had more drag while in the barrel than the Noslers. They did shoot tight groups though.....
