My boys went "treasure hunting"

Recommended Posts

While I was at work today my boys decided to go treasure hunting behind the house. A couple hours later I got a text with this picture. They are super pumped on their first deer sheds! Too bad I wasn't there to see the look on their face when they first found them. post-5644-0-07128800-1460167357_thumb.jpg

Awesome find at any age!

May I suggest having them mounted? Clay Goldman of Mogollon Taxidermy (and CWT.com sponsor) in Payson, AZ did a matching muley set for me and they look great. I think taxidermist call it a "plaque mount" or "panel mount" or something like that.

I did my own mounting job with a pair of coues sheds but I like the professional job much better. (DIY taxidermy is kinda like DIY outpatient surgery in that you can do it and come out ok, sometimes.)

It's so rare to find a matching set and to find a fresh set without sun damage or critter nibbles is even more remarkable. It will make a great conversation piece for years to come.

I actually do part time taxidermy work and my sons and I talked about mounting the sheds for a little father sons project. then they can hang it in their room.
