I've know Steven and have hunted with him many times. If you have the 5BS tag, you should certainly talk with him. Every year he puts his clients on awesome bulls. He knows the unit very well.

I heard A3 has a camera shortage cause they got stoled by another member. You might be careful, 5bs isn't one of the premier units so they might not make it a priority with so many cameras missing.

I would recommend you go ahead and not get one. Why do you feel you should?

Been banking points for a long time (10 years) and I want to maximize my opportunity. I'm a non-resident and will have zero opportunity to scout prior to driving out for the hunt.

Congrats! Yeah as a non res maybe I would as well. I have heard good things about A3 as well.

I personally would go either Ward outfitters Steven is a great guy and guide. Or Bill Babbish at Let er Rip outfitters also a great guy and guide!!!! Both spend lots of time in 5b south

Thanks for all of the replies. Talked to Steven this afternoon. If I did draw 5BS then I'm going with Wards. Hard to argue with his past success in that unit.

 

Now I wait and see which one I actually drew.
