Hoss50 Report post Posted April 4, 2016 Thanks for the advice guys. I just picked up a Redfield Revolution 4x12x40 to get something shootable on top of that 7mm Rem Mag and work on a load. If it shows good promise I will probably upgrade the glass on it again and move this scope over to replace one of the other cheapies on other rifles. I am going to start working a load soon for this rifle in the 160-168gr range and hopefully get some good results. I will run over to Sportsmans Warehouse or Bruno's next weekend and pick up some Bergers to try in it too along with some of the Speer BTSP's I already have. I want to work on getting that 300 weatherby better setup but I will have to muzzle break it right off the bat along with a scope to even get it shootable. I used to enjoy/not care about recoil but that was when I was 17 and stupid. I don't enjoy it anymore. Harley
Hoss50 Report post Posted April 17, 2016 I picked up some 168gr berger hvlds the other day and I picked up a grind to fit recoil pad today. I spent some time this afternoon fitting it up. It is a limbsaver small grind to fit. It just needed thinned out on each side. It wasn't really hard. The angle grinder with a flap wheel did pretty well at thinning it out without butchering it to much. It isn't a pro quality job but turned out pretty well. The brass is in the tumbler now getting clean and hopefully tomorrow I might be able to load some sight in rounds and a ladder test with h1000 and the bergers. Then it's off to the range soon. I even went semi-Kenyon and weighed all the brass to get the 50pcs. am going to load within about 2 grs.

Hoss50 Report post Posted April 19, 2016 I will let you know. I need to get time to load the rounds and get it on paper well first. Once I get that dialed I will probably enlist your help to fine tune it. Thanks Lance.
