CouesFanatic Report post Posted March 26, 2016 Looking for suggestions on a lake in the pines where I can camp with the wife and kids right by the water. I know a few I can camp by but they are in the cedars. Looking for somewhere new. Been to Woods Canyon a lot, looking to use my Kodiak Canvas right by the water. Have a fire, fish and have fun. CouesFanatic Report post Posted March 26, 2016 Can you camp by knoll lake?
rossislider Report post Posted March 26, 2016 In Arizona you are not permitted to camp within 1/4 mile of a lake. Check out the link below for more details. The way it is written is a bit vague, but I have seen it enforced. I don't think they enforce this at all lakes, but I know firsthand that they do enforce it at Knoll. http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/coconino/recreation/camping-cabins/?cid=stelprdb5313448
wildwoody Report post Posted March 26, 2016 Road is still closed I believe. Not to much lakeside camping anymore unless you hit maybe Black canyon.

You are right, from the wording it looks like lakes are not included, it is vague.
