Coach Report post Posted March 12, 2016 Selling this for my Dad. It's a 1984 GMC Jimmy. Very clean for it's age. I'll start with the good - that's the shorter list. Inside and out it looks great. It starts, runs and drives. Transmission is in great shape, new radiator, engine has a little over 30K miles. Ok, on to the bad. This was the truck I drove to high school back in the 80's. Afterward, my dad took great care of it but rarely drove it. Then my son drove it for a while and apparently ran it while low on oil. Currently, it runs really rough. I'd like to say it's a tuning issue, but I'd guess from running on low oil, at the very least the rings are toast - maybe worse. I won't mislead - the engine could be shot, I just don't know and at this point I'm not willing to invest in diagnosing it, so let's just assume the worst. The rust - as you can see in the pictures, there's some serious deep rust in that panel. 4x4 - not even sure if it engages anymore. Broken driver's seat - it leans back into low-rida position all by itself. That would have to be fixed if someone were to restore it. So, after that stellar sales pitch, let's talk $$. I don't know if this is a fixer-upper or a parts truck. My gut says it's worth $700 on the low side. I'm open to any cash offer. As for trades, I'd consider a Leica rangefinder. Pretty much set on other gear.
Coach Report post Posted March 12, 2016 Just to add, the tires are pretty much new, and I'd consider binos in the same price range.
