HuntHarder Report post Posted March 11, 2016 Why risk buying a used gun from out of state to save a few hundred $. Just buy a new one, and do the extra stuff as you can afford to. Most new guns from the factory will shoot accurate enough to get to "long" range. If you do buy a gun from out of state, and it turns out to be a dud, you are now stuck with what can turn into a real headache. This can happen when buying a new gun as well, but atleast you have some recourse here. If it were me, I would only buy a "long range ready" gun used, if I could shoot it first to verify it's accuracy. Lots of guys that sell rifles on here are more than willing to meet at the range to make sure both parties are happy with the sale/purchase.
