MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted February 20, 2016 Spent the week in a new hunting area waaaaayyyyyy off the roads. I had hiked to this area a few years ago and Edge had been there before that. I knew after the hike it was going to be rough. Turned out pretty smooth except for the catclaw and overgrown. Deer scouting didnt really happen as we ended up doing trail maintenence and exploring and some general relaxing but there was deer sign and Javi sign in very large amounts. I managed to find several beds within a mile or so of camp. Edge brought a 10lb pork roast for a lunch snack and we had elk burgers in the evening. Having a veteran of war and packing in camp was a real treat. I learned a few new tricks and some valuable intel for future trips to any camp. Enjoy.

Edge Report post Posted February 20, 2016 Was a good trip for sure. I managed a few hours of predator calling and saw some deer going in (species unclear, and saw several Coues coming out. Had a Gila monster blocking the mule train on a narrow, steep trail, in no hurry to get out the way. Our guest outfitters from MT, challenged Mike to bake a cake on the campfire, it came out perfect. We melted some chocolate bars and caramels in half and half for a glaze frosting. Great crew great place and great time. Ready to head back at the drop of a hat. Not many pics of the trail, hands were busy with animals. I'll figure out away to post a GPS graph of the trail. Looking at the que, you'd think we rode off a 1500' Cliff.summit Spring coming from cliff rock.
