.270 Report post Posted February 18, 2016 Yeah, hel l, we oughta be havin' depredation hunts ever couple weeks because the habitat has been improved so much. Again, deer can't eat money, and you can't by rain. And rain is the only thing that will raise the natural carrying capacity of the "habitat", that folks keep talkin' about. mattys281 Report post Posted February 18, 2016 I dont know the numbers but that was one of the justifications I read about before for them screwing with the archery elk permits. They cut back some of the sept ones but increased the November hunts by a greater number to get more hunters in the field on a lower success rate hunt. Trying to keep the crying down about not drawing tags. Its a tough decision to make. I think its a real lose lose situation for g&f. People will be p.o.ed about not drawing tags but also mad about the season changes. I guess they have to do something for hunter recruitment and retention. couesmagnet Report post Posted February 18, 2016 Heck if that guy talked about himself constantly on the internet like some of the golf course hunters that are famous now he could be a star. With all the help he had and all, I see a star in the making. He just needs the right presentation and spin. Pretty easy to fake most People out in the hunting world now a days. Give it 10 years or less and I'll bet he could write a book on how to hunt mule deer and most of you would buy it. Laugh now but it's true. Gettin really deep out there and even sadder than it is deep. All about ego and fleecing your cash out of your wallet these days. Who cares about truth it's better to believe the lie. Makes for a better story and gives the presenter a t.h.o...
