.270 Report post Posted August 9, 2007 use whatever bullets you want to use. use whatever charts and numbers and other junk to justify what you want to use. you asked if anyone loaded for a .264 and i have. a bunch. in fact, more than anyone i've known. i'd bet i've put 10,000 rounds through a .264. and loaded even more than that. i bought a new one less than a year ago and it's had well over 500 through it already. my youngest son has a new sendero .264 that he's still figuring out. but i prefer lighter bullets. and they are easier on the barrel. and if you haven't burned out at least one .264 barrel, you haven't shot one much. there are few animals west of the mississippi and south of canada that haven't rolled over to one of my .264's. same goes for my .270's, .300's, .243's, etc. Lark. A reread of my mesages will reveal why I asked if anyone reloaded, as in: "Anyway, the reason I asked the question is because I have a LOT of brass, most of which is once-fired that I'll part with for a reasonable price -- once I find it all in the places I have it stashed." The reread will also show that I quit reloading myself more than 10 years ago. Thus, I settled on the factory 140-gr. load. It happened a bit east of the Mississipi, but the one below travelled from brisket to butt on a blue wildebeest at 250 yards. I didn't recover any of the others from the rest of 9 one-shot kills with the .264 in Africa because they were all pass thrus. -TONY Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
