15X56 Vortex Binoculars

Recommended Posts

I'm wanting to add a higher magnification set of binos to my optics bag.

These will be primarily used off a tripod. I have a pair of 10x42 binos

I use now (both handheld and tripod). Will I notice a big difference in

magnification between the 10's and the 15's? Enough to justify the

expense. I've not had a large magnification bino before, so just looking

for thoughts from you guys who use them all the time and have more

experience with larger binos. I do not want a spotting scope. I've always

felt long periods of glassing were better with binos. Anyway thank you

for any thoughts on this matter.

Using the 15s on a tripod you will notice a huge difference between them and the 10s. I too carry 10s in my harness and use 15s on tripod. I have a love/hate for the 15s. I love the field of view and how it makes glassing that much better by picking out things I couldn't with 10s. I hate how close things look only to peek over my binos and see that its much farther hahaha

This. Love my 15s on tripod with 10s to carry. But yeah I always seem to look way too far away with them. :D

i'm going thru this same dilemma and i think i'm going to get the 15's and keep my 10's around my neck. I thought about just getting 12's as an all purpose glass but i liked the idea of the extra power if i need it.

I have the 15x Viper Vortex, huge difference over the 10's. 10x around your neck and 15x with a tripod are a great combo.

Thanks to all of you. That was a big help, I was hoping that was the case.

I will add the 15x56's and enjoy the combination I'm sure. I just finished a

javelina hunt in southern NM where the added magnification would have

eliminated some stalks on some dark rocks. Anyway successful hunt.

I really like the 10's on my neck, but use them on a tripod when I need to

look slower and more carefully. I think like you said it's a good combination

thanks again.
