levers Report post Posted January 29, 2016 Here are two model 70 Winchesters...one in 30-06 and one in 270. Both are in the 186,000 serial number range which, I think, means they were made about 1951. Both are quite nice, all original guns in very nice condition. No refinishing or alterations. Price is $1000 for the '06 and $1100 for the 270. Located in south Tempe area. (The '06 is the top gun in the photos)

levers Report post Posted January 29, 2016 I am willing to look at trades. I mostly like the older Winchester lever action guns but send me a pm if you have some stuff to trade.
.270 Report post Posted January 29, 2016 Both great looking rifles. Hard to find uncut stocks, with original back sights, sling swivels and front sight hoods. Blue looks sharp. I kinda like refinished stocks on model 70's because the stain and finish hides the color and grain of the wood. A lot of standards and fw's have nice wood that is covered up with the stain and finish. But it usually detracts from the price when they've been refinished. Too bad I've bought about a dozen guns in the last few months. I don't think I can sneak anymore in the cabin without my cook quitting. Nice rifles tho. Chris Report post Posted January 29, 2016 What would it cost to refinish a stock like those? I have refinished a Garand, but that does not have the checkering!

levers Report post Posted January 30, 2016 I'm not sure you'd want to refinish these but I looked on line and there are guys quoting prices that start at about $300 to do a complete stock refinish.

firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted January 30, 2016 Serious question, why would you want to refinish such a classic gun in such good shape?
