So anybody been shot at, robbed, threatened, looked at funny, etc? Other than getting caught between the guys with hk's and their drop off, and a high speed chase through our property. The worse I've seen is a guy in a group of 10 that flipped me and my brother off.

all it takes is 1 though.

The guy was drugged up I guess. He had a pistol, cousin had a rifle, you can do the math. But this is the only time I have heard of wets being violent against hunters. Last season I had a friend who had 3 groups come through his camp in one night. He figured the 3rd one was enough.

When packing in the border units, I've worried about an impatient or desperate dope runner stealing one or all of my animals off the picket line while I sleep.

Having a watch dog in camp might be the ticket.

The dog thing really worked for us last year. At least gave them a heads up we were there before they got too close. But its unnerving when you're a mile from camp and you hear your dog off in the distance going beserk.

May have to unveil my secret weapon....

The Scareback. Keeps crows out of the garden, should keep illegals and libtards out of Camp too. And with him in the truck on the drive down, I can use the carpool lane!

When taking animals on hunts or scouting, I find myself tethered to them anyway. Most of my horses can break their lead or halter if they wanted to and my only mule is an escape artist. High lined with hobbles on, I still try and keep the animals in sight and I don't think I venture more than 500 yards away. The critters seem to find trouble from tangled lines, broken gear to skunks.

Heading Back to a Remote scouting spot ... Seen movement about a mile ahead .. glassed up a group of banditos with AKs Beating and taking bales from a group of Mules ... Watched them for about 20 mins, contemplated our options, and only having a few Hand guns, we decided to back out and call BP .. Have Called BP or drove out informing BP of the locations of 6 different groups of Mules over the years... Always amazed how quick they get helicopters up in the areas. The Rougher the terrain, and the further from roads that BP can quickly access, the more likely it seems you are to see the Less friendly type of Illegal. At least in my experience.

Edge, time for you to get an Airedale!

Why Airedale? They have a tough coat to care for don't they? I have two imposing Boxers, one bites me if the gf says to.

Because airdales can/will protect you from 4 and 2 legged critters, have the endurance to make it to the backcountry, abd strength to haul their own food/water. Yes, that coat might be a little tricky I will just save them personally.

My sister had an Airedale for almost 14 years, it lived with me for half it's life, my folks for a few years, and the last years with her. That dam dog was the most pig headed stubborn bitc... Of a dog that I've ever seen! Hated everyone except one or two cats, almost killed the other cats. She'd jump straight up 6+' just to see the other side of the fence but she never jumped out, just up. Miss her but I've seen better dogs in my life. Oh and she was nappy and hard to keep clean haha!
