firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted January 28, 2016 I have both set ups. I have a m4 with a primary arms micro that is legit. I've taken it calling, but never called a coyote. My other ar is a 20" heavy barrel, topped with a Leupold 3.5-10x40. It all depends on the type of platform you're working with.
GreyGhost85 Report post Posted January 28, 2016 I shoot a minox 3-15x42 on mine. It has a long eye relief, which is nice on the AR platform. Just make sure to get forward mounts like Casey recommended.

PelaPapas Report post Posted January 28, 2016 Like stated above ^^^ I've owned and used the primary arms red dot. Great red dot for the $$$. I've also used the Bushnell TRS-25 red dot and is similar to the Primary arms. Both worked great for me and never had any problems. I am leaning towards to throwing on a scope on my AR as well for some yote hunting. So I'm in the same boat as you trying to find a scope to top it off with. 6ANut Report post Posted January 28, 2016 Love my vortex strikefire II, thought the 1x power would be hard to shoot out past 150 yards but have been able to shoot out to 250 plus yards with it.
IA Born Report post Posted January 28, 2016 I was searching high and low for the Vortex Strikefire II, but it was backordered forever back then. Dwayne (MatthewQuigley on here) talked me into the Nikon P-223 3x32 model. I've taken it out once and love it. I've yet to put to the test of the first line being 200 yds with the next two being 400 and 600, respectively, but I look forward to it. I have a few friends back in the Midwest who have the P-223 in 4-12x40 and 3-9x40 and they swear up and down by them. Cabela's has the P-223 line on sale right now, too. That front sight shouldn't be a big deal. Especially if you go with the red. It won't be noticeable.
PelaPapas Report post Posted January 28, 2016 Good stuff. This has a 1:8 twist 16" barrel. and a fixed front sight so I need some High mounts for it. I kept my front irons on my AR with red dot. I just had it co-witness with my front iron sight and rear flip up sight. Worked great for me. You could always swap out the front sight post for a low profile gas block if you wanted it out the way. Pretty cheap, and easy to install.
