rossislider Report post Posted January 28, 2016 While you are all here, can I shoot a coues deer with this? I was wondering when you were going to start stirring the pot. Maybe use this for your next picture?

While you are all here, can I shoot a coues deer with this? I was wondering when you were going to start stirring the pot. Maybe use this for your next picture? trphyhunter.png muwahahaha. but im serious
6ANut Report post Posted January 28, 2016 I asked this question before my mule deer hunt. I did hunt with my ar for 2 days when I was doing some still hunting. Think I picked up some federal premium 223 ammo like 65 grains or so.

lancetkenyon Report post Posted January 28, 2016 One of each. In all seriousness.... 4-16x50 Vortex Viper HS Good from 30 yards to 1000 yards 3-9x40 Vortex Diamondback. Good from 20 yards to 600+ 3-12x42 Nikon M-223. Good from 18 yards to 850+ I currently have a 5-20x50 SWFA SS HD on their now. Works from 30 yards to 1000K+. Good for putting rounds close together at 800+ too. A little too much low end magnification, but it works fine for coyotes and bunnies. I think the perfect AR scope would be a 3-15, 3-18, or even 3.5-21. Great low end for fast movers and/or close shots, but plenty of magnification for reaching out to 800-1K+. My next scope for my AR will be in this range. Then the 5-20x50 SWFA will go back on my .25-06 Ackley.

Big Browns Report post Posted January 29, 2016 Bushnell has a new series of AR scopes that are really nice and affordable. They are on sale at midway right now. I just bought several for my 223 & 308 AR.
trphyhntr Report post Posted January 29, 2016 Good good, now the gun porn is flowing. I put the old leupold on it, it has some sentimental value and should work I think. I wish it had a differen reticle but whatever. it's 3x9 vari-x 2, anyone know if I can get turret for it? Or is too old, it's from 1997.

cactusjack Report post Posted January 29, 2016 I love my Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6 and my Razor HD 2 1-6 on my ARs. Im excited to see the new 1-8 that Burris is bringing out. Being illuminated, the 1 power, basically makes it a red dot, and with a Switchview on it, you can get up to 6 quickly, without moving your head. On my AR's that I want for longer range, but not varmint calling, I have 3.5-10 or 2-10s. On my SBRs I have Aimpoint T1 Micros and Aimpoint PRO red dots. They mate with magnifiers but I'm not a fan. The 2moa dot, is a 6moa dot with the magnifier. Fine if you are shooting steel or Minute of Terrorist, but not precise enough for hunting.
