Winchester Model 70 .30-06 pre '64 $2000 OBO

I have a pre '64 model 70 I'm thinking to sell, it's a great gun and in nearly excellent condition for its age. There are minor blueing issues and one scratch on the stock see pictures below. Please feel free to ask questions.

Thanks for your expert opinion. But would you be able to point me in a direction how you came up with that Price evaluation . I have sold several pre 64 model 70 and I have never gotten less than $1500 for one.

I figured you wouldn't take well to constructive criticism. Check out gunbroker. I figured an expert like you has probably heard of it. 30-06 is probably the most common pre 64. Sure, the oddball calibers are worth much more. Best of luck with that sale. You're going to need it.

Has the stock been refinished?

Just going from the experience I have of owning a bunch of em, if you got $1500 minimum you did well or they were rare models or calibers in really good condition. You have a nice uncut rifle in decent condition. Still has the front side hood. But the back sight has been replaced, stock has been refinished, sling swivel loops have been removed along with the sling, the bluing is soso, and it's a standard grade in '06 made in the '50's. They made a bunch of em. It isn't a transition or clover leaf tang or spatula safety or low serial # or magnum action or featherweight or super grade or any of the things that boost the price. The old b&l scope is kinda cool. They didn't have internal adjustments. You sight em in with the adjustments in the base. But it probably doesn't add much to the price, unless you find someone that is into the nostalgia of a period scope. Real nice old rifle but not rare at all. Be a great hunting rifle. Good luck. He is right. They consistently sell for $800-$1000 over on 24hourcampfire.com ditto on gunbroker.. Yours is nice, but $2,000 is way out of the ballpark. I'm a model 70 whore and watch the prices constantly. Good luck with sale.
