Jay Scott Report post Posted January 23, 2016 We had a great couple of weeks hunting Coues Deer in Mexico with clients this year at Colburn and Scott Outfitters. We had two 7-day trips planned with four hunters on the first trip and five hunters on the second trip. This post was from the first trip. We arrived at the ranch on January 7th and were greeted by very wet and cold conditions. It rained pretty much the whole day driving and while we were unpacking the vehicles. It continued to rain all night. The skies were clearing in the morning and we had intermittent snow flurries. With the clearing conditions it was prime for deer spotting. The first hunter to get his deer was Ryan G. from Denver, CO. He was one of the fortunate winners of the goHUNT.com INSIDER October Hunt Giveaway. This was his first big game animal and he made a great 350 yard shot. Ryan G. with his first coues deer Cool Split Eyeguard The next hunter to strike was Mervin D. from Pennsylvania. He harvested a real pretty three point deer that was rutting with some does. Mervin was the second goHUNT.com INSIDER October Hunt Giveaway winner. We had a lot of fun with both Ryan and Mervin.
