cramerhunts Report post Posted January 12, 2016 From my experience with the Vias brake is that it is much quieter than a standard brake that does not have ports out the front. Shooting identical 300 RUM's except for the brake there is a noticeable difference from the Vias versus a standard brake. I went with another brake with ports on the side to prevent dust rocks being kicked up and my cousin went with the Vias. The sound difference as well as it not being bad for dust and rocks getting kicked up while shooting prone has me wondering if I made a mistake. Kingzero Report post Posted February 16, 2016 I have a Tikka T3 Superlite in 7mag and had Phoenix Custom Rifles install a Badger Thruster brake.....best thing ever! It recoils like my old 260 and if I pay attention to form I can spot hits at 300 yards on steel. I know steel and flesh are different, and in the heat of the moment you may not be able to confirm a hit at distance on an animal but it will help you get back on target faster. I know most of these brakes are geared towards tactical competition rigs, but some can be used on the smaller contour barrels of hunting rifles. Also I would like to put a badger thruster break on my new 7mm. I don't like the look of breaks that are real bulky on the barrel. I have just the stock barrel( not a bull barrel).
