bonecollector Report post Posted January 8, 2016 I know last yr the hunts you stated started on Oct 2nd.
elkaholic Report post Posted January 8, 2016 IF you look on page 19 it shows the dates for 2015 and the odds for 2014 of the draw all rifle / muzzleloader hunts started on SEPT 9 or Sept 11 there are no antelope hunts occurring the end sept into OCT all archery hunts started in AUG on an added nope the last few days of rifle antelope you'll have archery elk hunters in the field too so if you get real lucky you can rifle antelope and archery elk at the same time

trphyhntr Report post Posted January 8, 2016 ive seen them rutting really hard in late September before. Idk if that's normal though
C.S.Davis Report post Posted January 8, 2016 When i hunted antelope in 1999 it started on September 23. I was done that day aswell. I have no idea why i still remember that
Northern Pintail Report post Posted January 12, 2016 this was brought up last year and when I looked into it the reason was : there is a big ranch in AZ that believes hunting them in the rut is why we have such a low fawn to doe ratio, so they moved a couple hunts back to see if that does anything to help the ratio. Its not like antelope are hard to find during the day so the hunting shouldn't be any harder.
Flatlander Report post Posted January 12, 2016 Who cares. Antelope might even be easier to hunt out of the rut when big bucks don't have 20 extra eyes around and don't run all over god's creation chasing every buck that walks by. Overlap in hunting areas with elk is pretty minimal.
