How do you guy know that you've had 3 hatches last year? I was taught that gambles only have one hatch unless something happens to the first hatch early enough.

Gambel's are monogamous ... The chicks almost immediately leave the nest to stay with the parents ... They have 10 - 12 eggs that hatch in about 20 days and gambles can have multiple hatches ... It is easy to see as the varied aged chicks will run with the parents and you can tell by the varied sizes/ ages of each hatch with the parent .. this last year we seen pairs running with as many as 30 + chicks and 3 - 4 different ages.

Left QC today headed for the Rancho Neglecto. Queen creek canyon is rolling through superior. Looks like whitewater from a movie. Enough water it will make it into the valley. Devils canyon is the same. Farther east we went, less water. Still nice and wet. Mitchell peak has got a lot of snow since last weekend. Really wet here at the house. Rose peak looks real white. Exciting times for Az. Has the makin's of a great year. Lark

Roughly two feet of snow on Mt Graham since Monday night, more expected tonight. Be nice to see twenty feet for the season again like the early 80's.

Put down about an inch here so far. Everything says expect a lot more. We'll see. I hauled up a buncha wood to the porch, just in case they're right for a change. I wouldn't mind watching it snow for a day or so. Be great hunting when it clears. Lark
