Red Rabbit Report post Posted August 20, 2004 Here is a survey to give input on various proposals that G&F is considering. Please support the 90/10% resident noncommercial/nonresident commercial tag split as it is the only option that will satisfy the interstate commerce clause and still give preference to residents. www.azgfd.com/nrm/no_cap_comments.shtml Doug /RedRabbit
DesertBull Report post Posted August 21, 2004 I filled it out and I did recommend the 90/10 commercial suggestion, although very reluctantly. I feel about 75% sure it will be thrown out, just like the what we had before. The judge already said we could not cap the draw, period. You can change the wording around all you want, but in the end it's still restricting non-residence with a cap. The only thing a court has ever approved in such cases is higher fees for NR's. Did a team of lawyers, skilled in interstate commerce law, think this scheme up or did a bunch of good ol boys scribble it out on a bar room napkin after a night of drowning their "not drawn for squat again" tears? Or worse, a group of "hunting club members" had a secret double handshake meeting in the basement and proclaimed themselves Rulers of the Tags.
111 Report post Posted August 21, 2004 I filled out the survey as well. Not sure about those additional bonus points for helping out Arizona wildlife. If that happens, I put one point at the most should be awarded. I like helping but hunters would take advantage of it, if it's not limited to a certain amout of points.
