apple has finally taken care of this. though id spread the knowledge. Previously, the Apple lightening to sd card reader only worked on ipads and there were few aftermarket ones for the iphone that had not so good reviews. I read last week that with the IOS 9.2 update, which is the most recent, the Apple lightening to SD card reader will now work. I went and bought one yesterday and sure enough it worked...
