.270 Report post Posted December 31, 2015 Hey single shot, Ax your ol' man if there is a way to sharpen checkering tools. My #20 is so dull I'm tired of it. Or do I just need to get a new one? Lark
singleshot Report post Posted January 1, 2016 I will ask him but as far as I know it seems like he resharpened his. Probably by rubbing the first two nickels he ever made against it. My Brother and I got him an El Tigre 1892 in 44-40 for christmas this year. Nice seeing an 84 year old acting like he got a Red Ryder.
.270 Report post Posted January 1, 2016 Steve is a tightwad? I'da never thunk it. Just because he wears clothes bums threw away and drives stuff you hafta make parts for. I remember he bought a new two tone blue ford pickup. To replace his brown one. only reason it had a heater is because you couldn't get one without it. Cool you got him a 92. Watch out cats. Lemee know what he says. Happy new year. Did he ever tell about trying to kill a deer with an axe? Lark

singleshot Report post Posted January 2, 2016 Talked to him this morning and he said that unless you sharpen your left, right and single lines to exactly the same angle and depth you can create a mess in a big hurry. Makes sense
