208muley Report post Posted December 30, 2015 It would be cool to hear how many total pigs are seen by each member. I don't think the numbers are anything like the azgfd thinks they are. I have a tag in 22 but spend a ton of time in 21 and in one full year I have seen 1 pig. That's it.. And yes I do know what I'm looking for lol. The ground doesn't lie, no tracks equals no pigs and I walk a lot of piggy country as well as glass my butt off. Good luck out there guys!!

4Falls Report post Posted December 31, 2015 Yeah I usually put in for the multi-unit hunt around Prescott but wanted to try something different. I had plans to do lots of scouting that never came to fruition. However the last pig I killed was in 21 a decade ago so what the heck.

twigsnapper Report post Posted December 31, 2015 I'll be there, been scouting twice, haven't seen a pig yet. Hopefully scouting tomorrow produces a different result. I also usually put in for the combo across the 17, thought I'd try something different, hope it pans out.

naturebob Report post Posted December 31, 2015 You sound like a guy from New Mexico. When I used to hunt Muleys over there I would always see 10-12 trucks at least on a weekend with Chicanos just road hunting and drinking beer. Allways freindly and offering up there beer. Any time of day. Wonder if they ever get anything. If they see some bucks , could they shoot straight? Oh well they were having fun. I keep my beer in the cooler till the days hunt is over. Some days none If I'M tired and know I have a good hike the next day I have none. After kill. Cellebration time. PS I am surprised there are any pigs left in 21.with the mount of pressure they get. I allways found , but smaller heards in 21.............BOB!

elkaholic Report post Posted December 31, 2015 some of the problems with herd size - most guys really do not seem to care if its only 3-4 pigs they want to fill the tag period ! over the yrs killing out of the same bunch can and does reduce the numbers - mostly because you may not be the only ones hunting the herd! it's great to see the little reds but in reality most won't make it . I've passed on small groups of less then 6 or at the very least try to just hunt the bigger boars . they will usually be off from the group a little and I've seen more than once they be the last one and follow along . So if you spook a herd- hang around and look for the stragglers - usually the boars. this way, the others may not run as far and easier to relocate over the next ridge or

AZHNTR67 Report post Posted January 6, 2016 When I find a poop bed like that I poop in it myself. They get pissed. Very territorial. Then when I come back to hunt they know my scent and don't run! Works everytime!!
