out for a check camera yesterday - a few does - a few piggys

 

from the sign looks like bucks should be chasing does

 

full moon doesn't help much - only deer seen a single doe

 

yes it was windy and chilly yesterday

 

the wind really cleared out he valley smog too!

22, I would be hunting in shorts. -8 degrees out here this AM. with wind chill of -23. Thats chilli. And it gets a lot colder than that. Thats why I quit the oilfield 2 days ago. I tired of working in that crap Would allready be back in AZ. but got a Danm Mobile home to sell first...Good luck Guys in 21 . Save some for Me . That my old stomping grounds..................BOB!

Haha. We will be out there for the next 5 days. Going to be up there early to freeze. Hopefully the bucks are starting to move.

I ended up running into a 3x3 mulie. Followed him for a bit but he was in rut mode and was on a mission. The wind kicked my butt. 8 deer total, no pigs.

Looks great to me! I'd take that buck any day. It was pretty flipping cold.

 

Other than a jack rabbit and a bunch of hunters (2 rhinos and 5 4x4s) I didn't see squat.

 

Terrain looks much better for glassing and rifle than it does for bow hunting.

Mixed results on ice. Some were fully glazed. Others just the edges.

 

I got a recommendation to work the power line area for a bow hunt. Can anyone second that for the area?

Finally got it done today. Not a huge deer but I am happy for my first.attachicon.gifimage.jpeg

 

Congrats! Most hunters will never even see a grey ghost in their life and you got one on the ground!
