Chris Report post Posted December 22, 2015 Why don't we see tube hunt rifles? Anyone here have one? Cost? Weight?
southernxpress Report post Posted December 22, 2015 Ive looked at the tube guns and decided I liked the chassis system better. I like the adjustment that you can choose from on both. They are great for kids and packing too since u can collapse them down easily. The pistol grip feels great when shooting prone. The tube gun requires a special recoil lugs that would have to be installed by a smith, the chassis you just drop a regular rifle into it. You have a bit more metal in the tube gun design making it a bit heavier. This one with out the scope I wanna say is a little over 8#. I looked at the tube gun for a long time and decided a chassis made more sense. There are a lot of chassis type stocks out there, this particular one is brand new from the Outdoorsman here in town. I just barely got the gun put together, myself and a few others have shot it now and everyone loves it.

yotebuster Report post Posted December 22, 2015 Wow. Those things are ugly. Seems like you'd have to keep them in a backpack or something. Can't imagine they'd ride real well on a sling.

azhuntnut Report post Posted December 22, 2015 I just built one and tried to make it as light as possible. With my scope it weighed in at 11 lbs. David

Mike S Report post Posted December 23, 2015 I have friends with both Eliseos and Tubbs, but never thought of building a hunting rifle on one. Way too ungainly in my opinion.
.270 Report post Posted December 23, 2015 I hate you Casey. Whatever a tube gun is, it is uuuugly. I don't even think my mule would pack one. Be afraid the other critters would tease him. Lark
