IHunt2live Report post Posted December 16, 2015 Anyone every see something like this before? I know they will chew on bones for calcium so why not antlers. Its not everyday you glass up a dead head, let alone another deer chewing on them. billrquimby Report post Posted December 18, 2015 Many years ago, I shot a whitetail buck with antlers that still were in heavy velvet when the season opened in late October. We were at the home of one of my wife's cousins in the Sierrita Mountains and I skinned the deer and sawed the antlers from its skull and draped them over a barbed wire fence. When I went to retrieve them a couple of hours later, a cow had chewed off half of one side. To say I wasn't happy would be an understatement.
