Shooter McGavin Report post Posted December 8, 2015 I have looked at the following bows for my 11 yr daughter. Any feedback (pros/cons) would be greatly appreciated from all who have had their kids use these or any others that might have overlooked. She currently shoots a traditional bow, buts wants the compound look, feel, etc.....and having the arrows go faster. I have picked up and actually seen all these bows, just want someone's personal feedback if they are as good as the salesman say they are. PSE Mini Burner Mathews Mission Craze II Diamond Edge Mathews Genesis Fred bear III All these come ready to shoot (whisker bisquit, 3-pin sight (very cheap), loop, quiver. Some come with a stabilizer and wrist sling. I would take off the quiver and stabilizer for weight purposes, trying to keep it as light as possible. I have heard the Diamond edge will last a lifetime as she grows, but all these have variable draw-pull and lb adjustments. Let me know? This thread doesn't need to turn into a pissing match either, just trying to get my daughter who is really excited to fling some arrows at a longer distance with a quality bow until she can make her own decision on what she likes. mattys281 Report post Posted December 8, 2015 I set my wife up with the diamond infinite edge. Really good for her because she has a rather long draw length but doesn't shoot heavy poundage. Its a solid package and I cant believe the adjustment range.
bonecollector Report post Posted December 9, 2015 I just purchased my 9 yr old the Hoyt ignite. We got a killer deal on it and it was the only left handed bow they had that would fit her. It's a little heavy but I removed the quiver for now and she shoots it pretty good.

Phil Beavers Report post Posted December 9, 2015 I bought my 13 year old the Bowtech Fuse its adjustable from 15-70 lbs basically a good starter bow the kid can use through his late teens ( or until he gets dad's hand me down or a job to buy his own!) my son likes it. I paid like 420 for it complete.. Came with whisker biscuit , quiver , 3 pin site all that good stuff.
Shooter McGavin Report post Posted December 9, 2015 Thanks to everyone who has replied with info, I probably need to take her to actually hold all of these bows for weight purposes. That will ruin the surprise but get her more excited about shooting.
GotBowAz Report post Posted December 15, 2015 Another vote for the Infinity Edge, I bought this bow fro my grandson when he was 10 and 5 foot 2 inches, I have had to adjust it as he grew a few times! He is now 14 years old 6' 4" and 30" draw. Man I hope he quits growing! I was able to change his draw lengths with out a bow press and with the binary system this thing re tunes so easily. He started out at 25 lb draw and is now at 50 pound draw and still has room to grow. Also, im not sure about the other bows but you can download the complete manual on the Edge which has the instructions to make necessary adjustments.
lancetkenyon Report post Posted December 15, 2015 A lot of the smaller frame bows would be a good candidate. As she grows, you can replace limbs and modules or wheels to add poundage and draw length to fit. My 24 year old shoots the same bow she did when she was 13, and has just upgraded the limbs and wheels. A Hoyt InterTec if I recall correctly.
