PelaPapas Report post Posted December 8, 2015 Anyone have a spare/used buddy heater they want to sell? Looking to buy one before the archery deer hunt. I'll be taking my daughter out and want to make it as comfortable as possible for her. Looking for the single bottle model. Let me know if you have one... Thank you!!! Str8Shot Report post Posted December 8, 2015 You can get the BIG Buddy for 99.99 ( no tax which offsets the $15 shipping ) on Northern Tool .... http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200307957_200307957 ... think they have the smaller one for 69.99
rthrbhntng Report post Posted December 8, 2015 Be careful buying used. There was a design issue with the thermo piece that the pilot light hits and they have updated them. Mine was 2 yrs old and would not run very long. I bought a new one and it is different and works great.
Dano562 Report post Posted December 9, 2015 Walmart is the cheapest place to buy new. And the thermo coupler and the regulator were a problem with older ones. If you buy one I recommend buying a propane tree and hose to hook up to a bigger bottle. The 1 lb bottles will last about 3-4 hours on high and 6-7 hours on low if it's all the way full.
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted December 9, 2015 What Dano said! I have the big buddy in my well house with two 7 gallon tanks. 14 gallons lasts a few months in the winter to keep stuff above freezing.

Couzer Report post Posted December 9, 2015 Do you guys leave these on in your tents while you sleep? I have a bunch of times, but thinking I need to leave a window open next time
Tucson John Report post Posted December 9, 2015 I used it in a Jumping Jack trailer, which is basically a big tent on wheels, and yes I'd leave on all night if needed. I wouldn't do that in a trailer or camper, but the tent "breaths" enough to where you don't have to worry about carbon monoxide. TJ

Maybe if I unzip a vent or something it'll be safe.
