rcdinaz Report post Posted December 8, 2015 I would say like any rifle with good components the pieces are worth more than the total. The FN mausers are the collectible more sought after actions. Being built in Spain is probably a premium if it is a shotgun and not so much for a rifle. The stock is very nice and that is a good custom barrel, new each is probably $300 - $400 but as all of us learn when we build a rifle 1+1 usually equals 1 or 1 1/2. Check out the gun auction sites to see what they are going for "santa barbara 98 mauser" should get you a ton of search hits. If you have shot the gun and have the targets to show it shoots lights out (good chance) then it may be worth a bit more if you post the results with your add. I don't know a lot about older rifles there are a lot of guys that know more about older guns and actions on this site than i do but I hope this helps.
