Shedhunteraz Report post Posted December 4, 2015 Is it sendero or not? Are Bergers all you have?
GreyGhost85 Report post Posted December 4, 2015 I like to start with .030 or .040 off the lands. I think Berger recommends .
rcdinaz Report post Posted December 4, 2015 GreyGhost is right (kind of) here is the link I can't paste the link for some reason... 0.01, 0.05, 0.09, 0.13 were the recommended "hunting" starting points for testing VLD's. The 0.04 was for benchrest where you start with a jammed bullet and the 0.04 and then up. 0.04 increments were the recommended test protocol. Google Berger VLD reloading also search this site for 7mm reloading and there are 2 threads in the reloading section (recent) that have a bunch of input on what other members have had work best in their rifles. lancetkenyon Report post Posted December 6, 2015 I always start touching lands, .0400", .0800", .120" jumps. If it is a hunting rifle, make sure you can reliably feed from a magazine. My .300RUM has a huge jump to meet mag length, something like .180" jump, and shoots phenomenally.
MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted December 6, 2015 I had same issue on 700 308, .200 off for mag length but it shoots really well
AlexB Report post Posted December 6, 2015 .020 jump I find works well with begers then just do load work up. Might not fit in the mag
