desertmafia21 Report post Posted November 25, 2015 Definitely go with large. A medium will be too tight with layers. The only thing that i run true to size is my base layer. Kuiu is athletic fit so one size up is what you want
cohofishing Report post Posted November 25, 2015 I wear a large for kuiu clothes. Generally, the complaints are that their fit runs small. I am 5'5" 150lbs and the large jacket is perfect with a little room for some layers. I think my super down is a medium
Heat Report post Posted November 25, 2015 My Guide jacket is one of my favorite garments. Works well with a variety of layers. Really like the pit zips and the higher up side pockets that work well with a backpack waist strap. I have one of the earlier versions not the DCS with the chest pockets. Works great outdoors and looks fine around town in the Brown color I have. Mine is a medium and fits well. I'm 5'9 150. Sounds like a large for you.

creed_az_88 Report post Posted November 25, 2015 So I ordered a guide jacket in medium. I'm going to try and see how it fits. If it doesn't work I'll send it back. They basically don't have much in a large, guide jacket and Teton both included. I almost ordered the Chinook but figured the guide would serve my purposes a little better. Thanks for all the help. They must have gotten wiped clean on their last sale. I'm surprised that they are short on merchandise this time of year.
lancetkenyon Report post Posted November 26, 2015 I'm 5'7", 153#. I am up on a cold (18-36°), windy (15-40mph) elk scouting trip right now, sitting under a tree, glassing as I type this. I just got a medium Kuiu Teton soft shell which fits great with a base layer and two long sleeve shirts under, and a large Kuiu Guide DCS jacket over, with the Kuiu rain pants (don't remember model) over jeans. The only thing that has gotten cold in 2 days are my finger tips and nose. Fit is great. Not too tight, but I could Bowhunt with it all on if I needed to. capoeirajosh Report post Posted November 27, 2015 That Kuiu Guide jacket is a fantastic piece of gear. I myself wear First Lites puffy jacket. Thing rules. In my opinion, having a windproof jacket is pretty important. Seems like the wind is what makes me cold most of the times out there glassing. Having the windproof would probably allow you to get away with less clothing as well, being that it would block that cold wind. Good luck in your search!
