muledeerarea33? Report post Posted November 20, 2015 Does a tom taste different than a hen? Was thinking of doing turkey next year. Hoping they get along with the chickens but was only gonna do hens.
el diablo Report post Posted November 20, 2015 It's only my second year raising em so I'm by far an expert. We only ate the Tom so don't know if there was a difference but it was the best turkey we've had. They will be fine with the chickens for a bit but as they start getting bigger the natural pecking order takes place. They started roughing up our hens last year so we keep the separate. Also from what I've read turkeys shouldn't be kept with chickens because there's a disease the can get from eating the chicken crap.
rossislider Report post Posted November 20, 2015 Just sent your info to a coworker. She asked me today if I could shoot a fresh one for her. If only it were that simple.
