Edge Report post Posted November 17, 2015 One of my little ponies got an early Christmas present, a new Decker pack saddle. Mike and I made some britchens adjustments before taking it for a trial run before next week's pack hunt. How little is that pony? In boots, Mike (pictured)is probably close to 6'3" if that helps. Side note; if Mike invites you out to ride mules, best to turn off cell phone in advance.
elkaholic Report post Posted November 17, 2015 well when you want him to carry some real heavy stuff - let me know i'll give him a try - lol need a different saddle though - and a ladder make for packing out those big bundles of meat a whole lot easier - plus all the gear needed on a pack hunt
Edge Report post Posted November 17, 2015 I've gotten older and spoiled, like having along all the accoutrements. Wrapping up like a giant gordita in a bedroll on the ground has lost its romance.
elkaholic Report post Posted November 17, 2015 stuffed up in a bag and wrapped in a canvas tarp isn't as desirable as it once was - lol been there done that - more than once - in all kinds of weather - never worse for wear either

AZbowhntr Report post Posted November 18, 2015 Been there done that. Woke up to 2 skunks fighting over chicken bones from the night before about 3' from me. Never kept so still in my life until they rolled out of the fire pit where the bones were and then never moved so fast.

Chewed into feed bags and going through everything All the guys on this trip were so exhausted and hung over we just dealt with the pooch. Took turns washing him with Dawn down in the creek.
