Quagmire Report post Posted November 14, 2015 Wanted to see if anyone knows of a great gunsmith in Tucson. I just picked up a Remington 700 chambered in 30-06 and would like to work up a load, float and glass bed stock along with new scope with rings. Also, quite possibly a trigger job. Thank you all! lancetkenyon Report post Posted November 14, 2015 Are you doing your own load work up or do you want the smith to do that for you as well? The rest is easy for any competent smith.
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted November 14, 2015 I've had Lawson's install a few barrels.
Quagmire Report post Posted November 14, 2015 Thanks everyone for the quick responses! Lancetkenyon, I would have to have him work up a load for me since I do not have the equipment or knowledge for that. You have anyone in mind? Thanks again all, any others? lancetkenyon Report post Posted November 14, 2015 Any friend who has reloading equipment that you can buy some instruction time from? Good load development can take a lot of time.
Quagmire Report post Posted November 14, 2015 Thanks again guys! Lance, I don't know anyone who has loading equipment is the biggest problem. I also do not have the space to buy all the things and work on them since I live in an apartment. I would be more that happy to pay for someone to work up the best load for that rifle. I had my 7mm Rem Mag done a couple years ago from my then sisters fiancé but the relationship went sour and we do not speak at all. Does Lawsons work up loads as well? sherman Report post Posted November 15, 2015 I would be willing to help you out with the load development if you are not wanting it in a few weeks. You would just have to buy a die set and components
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted November 15, 2015 Same as Sherman, I have dies and such and like working up loads. I just got done making another 7mm shoot good, I suppose I can do it again.
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted November 15, 2015 I'm by no means a gunsmith though, if you need a barrel put on I'm not your guy but I can install a timney and float a barrel, I'd only charge your ability to learn and pay attention. Then pass it on to the next guy.
